The Breezm app relies on the iPhone's TrueDepth camera and Face ID system for accurate 3D scanning.
If you are unable to initiate a scan, please verify that Face ID is fully functional. The scanning feature may not work if critical parts of your phone (camera, sensors, or screen) have been damaged or replaced by a non-authorized third-party repair center.
If Face ID is unavailable, we recommend visiting an authorized Apple service center to restore functionality before proceeding with your face scan.
Quick Self-Check Guide
Step 1: Access Face ID Settings
Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode (enter your device passcode if prompted).
- If you see "Set Up Face ID" (active button): Face ID hardware is fine—your 3D scan should work.
- If grayed out, shows "Face ID Not Available", or "Try Setting Up Later": Hardware issue blocks 3D facial scanning.
Step 2: Test for Repair-Related Issues
Recent screen/camera repair at a non-Apple shop? This often disables Face ID and 3D scanning due to Apple's TrueDepth security pairing.
- Symptoms: No Face ID icon on lock screen; front camera works but 3D scan fails.
- Quick test: Open Camera app—does front camera (notch area) focus clearly? If yes, but scanning fails, it's likely a TrueDepth pairing failure.
Common Signs 3D Facial Scanning Hardware is Broken
| Symptom | What It Means | App Impact |
|---|---|---|
| "Face ID Not Available" in Settings | TrueDepth camera system unpaired/damaged | 3D facial scan unavailable |
| Reset Face ID option grayed out | Hardware not detected | Cannot scan your face for glasses fitting |
| Works before repair, fails after | Third-party parts not Apple-authenticated | Browse/order without scanning |
Next Steps if 3D Scanning Fails:
1. Restart iPhone: Hold volume + side button, slide to power off, wait 30s, turn on.
2. In app: Try scan > fails? Use manual measurements or standard frame sizes.
3. Still issues? Visit Apple Store for official repair (they fix third-party repair Face ID failures).
